She was introduced in original Timothy Zahn novels after the empire fell. Granted, she wasn't exactly empire at that point (more of a smuggler), but this game often applies tags as needed, rather than always following canon.- The best thing about this is that I can force her to serve under Thrawn, making a fun team and pretend she would have made a different decision in the books. But this version of Mara is from when the Empire was at it's peak and Palps was still alive and kicking (EU lore-wise anyway). Any version of Mara from the time of the Imperial Remnant will more than likely be a Jedi.

Re-read the Last Command, she realises that the Emperor wanted her to kill Luke as revenge against Vader. She never knew that Luke was Vader's son until the Noghri were talking about the "Son of Vader".
