Junk zaul team.
I'm on a Nov 15 shard and zaul is definitely still dominate. Pretty sure the guy who posted this topic just got his little sith all geared up and zeta and wants to quiet down the nerf crowd by being a smart you know what. The swgoh.gg stats don't lie. And the fact that rex gets dominated by so many comps as well."Ig88isboss;c-1025354" wrote:
What an arrogant attitude to think your shard=the standard for everyone's shard.
Just gonna leave this here.
"The swgoh stats don't lie"- The GG stats are just a picture of where we are now - they don't indicate where the game is going...and if you look at the zDM trend it's not favorable - he's losing leader % points over the past few weeks. zDM was near 50% at one point, but is steadily losing ground.
Unless you feel the OP is making false statements, he's saying the zDM wave came in....and it has been extinguished as players have adjusted. The GG stats are generally supporting this as the zDM leader % is coming down over time. "JohnnySteelAlpha;c-1025452" wrote:

Id bet anything it will go back up once more people on his shard develop fo, Jedi and res teams. 3 teams that can steamroll through Rex teams but stumble on zaul."Olddumper;c-1025364" wrote:
You heard the man, nerf the guys who can kill the guy who can kill Zaul."Ig88isboss;c-1025354" wrote:
What an arrogant attitude to think your shard=the standard for everyone's shard. Swgoh.gg shows clearly that zaul is still meta by a land slide. The only reason these Rex teams are so prevelant is to counter the meta. Rex teams get smashed with fo, res,Jedi and zader teams. Far from meta. They just hide themselves in a sea of zauls.
This is definatly not true about 15 of my top 20 are Rex. Defiantly not hiding amongst anything.- If you've played anything with a changing meta that is even slightly balanced the trend is usually.
1. New Meta content release or update = few variations of best stats/mechanics
2. Response = As choices are formed to capture the top , the meta is solidified to a few prime choices and stragglers
3. "The Meta" = in response to the meta a counter meta is formed using choices which effectively counter the current meta due to being formed specifically around the vulnerability of the meta.
4. The back swing = choices which were previously meta capable or varitations of "the meta" appear to take advantage of these new counter meta choices due to their fragile nature (only good at one thing, countering the meta)
5. Balance before the new meta = as the counter meta is exposed and defeated "the meta" resurfacea and once again you have a mixed board of "the meta" , counter meta, and stragglers
6. Repeat "Ig88isboss;c-1025455" wrote:

I wouldn't quite agree. Jedi now don't stumble on Maul in elite setups - they can be hard for DM to beat on offense. Even before zDM though - Res and FO were really bad as D slots. zDV with a fast TFP kept them from being "arena viable" as you just couldn't keep them in a D slot really. Jedi are much better than Res / FO as defense team. So even if zDM never happened, I don't think you'd see much Res / FO since a fast TFP / Boba / zDV comp - especially with DN now - will keep them pinned down."Ig88isboss;c-1025455" wrote:

Unfortunately all 3 of the teams you listed are god awful on defense, much worse than any Rex or Zaul team. That's why they'll never make much noise at the top of any arena leaderboard.- I will also say about GG - it really is lagging behind the viability of DN as a leader. 3% usage for DN is totally a representation of not having the right toons built yet by the masses to effectively use his lead. You can make comps that zDM teams have a hard time touching even on offense with DN. Vader and Wedge especially, shouldn't be ahead of DN.

Preach. My DN team shreds top tier zaul and Rex on auto. Best part is, I'm the only one running it on my top 20 :D"JohnnySteelAlpha;c-1025482" wrote:

I play zVader and he can crush Rex and defeat maul quite easily. If dn becomes a thing, Vader will destroy him. So I do hope he makes a charge.
zMaul is the best defense. Rex can beat it, but not as easy as zMaul can beat Rex. Anyone who hasn't played vs the best maul set ups don't really know. They play maul and expect to win for free and when they don't, they go back to Rex. That doesn't mean Rex is better, it just means they haven't built a proper zMaul team.
