[Mega]Content Update 8/2 [Hot Fix] & Commander Luke Skywalker Intro

Some sort of dev response on this would be very welcome. The update notes say we need certain 7* characters to unlock Commander Luke. But is this like other events where we then get event versions of those characters to use for the event? Or will it be like some of the bonus tiers where we use our own characters? It's nice to know that we need certain characters at 7* but it would also be helpful to know if we need to be working on gearing them up as well or not.
