Please consider to restore "MK5 Droid Caller" back to original before 3/31 updated. :/
Some of top level player precraft some of it and gear to IX, but lots of player not, :(
It make big chasm in Arena battle after lv74, :s
It's feeling not fair and disadvantage in the game, and we can do nothing now. :'(
It's really a bug, not fun. :#

Tried to give the new update a chance but it just destroyed this game. How can you add "protection" and reduce all characters health and have no way to replenish protection. This made all my 6* healers useless after spending so much time to build them up. Bad job on this update turned a really fun game into an app that will soon be uninstalled. Very disappointing!

I'd like to come at this update from a different perspective, and I really hope it merits some consideration.

This game is rated 9+ in the App Store. Why?

Simple, Star Wars has a unique, nearly universal appeal because of the simplicity at its heart: good vs evil, in the shape of the light and dark side of the force. This central conflict resounded with young and old audiences in 1977, and still does in the newest incarnation.

Watching my 9 year old daughter become immersed in the new story, at approximately the same age as I did with the original, was a splendid moment. Watching her become a Star Wars nerd, has been fun.

She, just as we all did, was drawn to the simplistic dichotomy in the conflict, and happily for her, the new hero was actually a heroine. Rey's appeal to her is heartwarming, knowing she has the same draw as Luke and Han did for me.

As a blooming Star Wars nerd, it didn't take long for her to spell out a clear power hierarchy of the franchise: Jedi > Sith > blasters > droids > Jar Jar.

When she found SWGOH, I played along to offer guidance, but I too enjoyed the game, I'm a fan after all, and we've enjoyed collecting and promoting our favorites together.

She, of course, plays at a much different level than I, and certainly different than the P2P crowd. She's been upset at the failed Lando Twitter event, and the grind to get Rey. But she's independent, and wants to get there as much on her own as possible.

When she settled in after this update, she was despondent, and summed it up succinctly, "It's like they don't want you to win. I'm never going to get Rey or anybody else now, or level them up. Why don't they want you to get characters and have fun?"

I like the game, and I understand why so many can devote so much time and money to it, I suppose I put a few too many hours in myself. I'm not as crestfallen as she is, but I certainly am not excited by the "balancing" in the update.

However, I'm really disappointed that a game with as universal appeal as Star Wars, rated to include children, centered on such an essentially simple conflict, is now straying so far from being a fun, role play for fans.

If a nine year old can spot the disincentivizations of this new update (and freemium model in general), I'm sure developers can too, as long as the enjoyment of being an engaged fan is still a central concern for the game.

Should you build a game that targets the paying players at the top? Sure.

Should you remember that your connection to the franchise brings players of all sorts and ages? Absolutely.

It's an RPG, and I agree with my kid, you're stretching the fun and simple appeal of Star Wars too thin.

Build it for fans and the fans will play and stay. Built it for players, and well, I think we see where that's leading.

I'm pretty sure you've lost one young Star Wars fan here, but I hope you keep fans, not just top tier players, in mind when balancing the game. And let them play, and let them win - it's a game.

I played the STR Gear Challenge 3 times today on auto (which is a terrible player anyway) and beat it, came back after the update barely made it over half way. I have a geo soldier,(gear lvl 9, six stars) sidius,(gear lvl 8, 7 stars) IG-86,(gear lvl 8, 7 stars) Luminara,(gear lvl 8, 7 stars) and Consular(gear lvl 8, 6 stars). My squad power is 28k (ish). I fought a 25k (ish) squad. And lost twice.
My geo soldier could do 10k damage combined attack with critical damage on both. I did a 5k damage with critical damage.

I hate the new way. I loved the old life meter much better. If you think that I'm wrong please let me show me what Im doing wrong. That being said I despise the update so does my whole family (who plays the game).

I love this game and I don't want to erase it. Partly because it's an interesting game, partly because I love star wars. I have gone through many games (marvel: contest of champions, marvel: future fight, Jurassic world, Avengers assemble 2, star wars: worlds at conflict) and no game has compared to this game.

And I'm looking forward to the guilds and raids I've
saved a thousand crystals already just to have my own so I love this game a lot.


So in summary I love the game.
I hate the update with all of its content.
And EA please fix it.

I think you're wrong and since you asked, here's the problem.

You need to rethink the way you approach the challenges, like you, I got smoked with the team I used to auto on in the STR challenge.

I changed out my Lumi and put in my 5* gear 7, ABILITY 3, Vader.
Saved my specials for the final encounter then fired off Sid and Vader specials first turn to Apply debuffs. I took out one droid then Veers, then the other droid, then Tarkin last, and voila! Two straight completions, one with 5 standing, the other with 4.
Ran Sid lead, GS, 86,88 and Vader lost 86 in 1 encounter to a droid but still finished. The secret to that challenge is applying debuffs so bring toons that can do that.

I found GW easier, fights took longer so you could burn cooldowns and heal up, but, again, I had to change my approach and put Barriss in the lead for the first time instead of QGJ and put in Lobot against an RG, Vader Old Ben, Fives and Barriss squad and Ventress to counter a Phasma, Han, Yoda buff squad .

So it was a little harder, but I finished it fairly easily. And I'm not a whale, before anyone goes that way. Simply had to use more toons than before, which is great !

And I say that, even knowing that lacking a good taunter I will drop dramatically in arena.

Dude buzz of ok? You think everybody is a whale or wth? I can't even complete the AGI gear challenge now. I can only imagine what STR and tank challenge will be. What does protection accomplish exactly against a character that leaves with you with 1hp? Where is the logic there?

I have a feeling that its the Lower level players that didn´t spend Month after Month grinding and upgrading their characters that are happy with this "improvement"

I spent both Money and lots of time to get my characters to where they are and now I am basically back to 0 and can hardly complete simple challenges even though im maxed out.

And winning a fight in the Arena seems basically impossible with my favourite team now......

I'm pretty casual, I play most days and would never imagine paying money for a mobile game, and I still think this update is bantha poodoo

It's the same excuse also...We had to do this to keep the life of the game going..Ummm no.. You did this to slow down the community progress in hope people will focus on a wider range of characters and potentially pay more into the system.

This is why I would never spend $$$ on these games compare to a "Real" game. I find people who spend a car payment per month on this type of game insane! when there are WAY better games out there and more content. If you really look into it, there is really no content in this game. All you do is fight other characters and grind..that's it! Try to collect all the characters and finish battle lines. As of yet, there is no quest like lines where you may get something cool or fight a big boss character.

I would rather see an ability to develop a character with say items.. Not just pre-static stats that you have to find gears for to upgrade. Have the ability to find say a light saber with so call stats to give a player an edge who may of been playing a long time. As of now the way it is.. A max toon is the same for everyone else..There is no uniqueness in them from person to person.

With the guilds coming, this change had to be seen..

The health bars are just horrid now.. You are better off making them into a solid health bar instead of blocks or just put a number over the toons head.

For me, the game play has now come to a crawl and boring! Why is auto battle so much faster in animation compare to manual? Now with so much dodging and missing, it just drags!! It's one thing to grind when you are actually killing stuff..it is another when you are missing and dodging left and right....

Of and the STR challenge was just nuts.. All my guys dead in one blast on the 3rd stage!! WTF?!?!

I am also not max out like many here, I have about 5 toons that just hit Gear Lvl. 7. Those at lower levels.. year, have fun working your way up..because it is going to take you longer now..

Oh and the Guild pre challenge.. I can't even do it... Why..Ohhh I don't have 3 toons at level 3... I lose!!

GW and stage 8 hard battles need work.

I totally agree, if they had spent time and money they would have a different attitude for sure.

A star wars game in which a max level Yoda, Qui Gonn, Maul, Darth Sidious are outmatched toons and not worth using is the worst star wars game ever.

I noticed that the @CG_JohnSalera post got closed pretty quickly. I also noticed that he kept saying some players loved the "updates" and some players hate it.

By reviewing the sudden dramatic drop in your iStore App rating, the overall tone of most comments in the forum and also your polls it is crystal clear that you have destroyed the game and your customers hate it.

Trashing the health bar was wrong. Adding the protection bar was wrong. The re-balancing was far too extreme and wrong. Making toons weaker was wrong.

I feel that after paying for crystals to complete challenges and buy Chromium Mega-Packs that I own the characters I have spent months in developing. I reckon I've spent over $1,000 in 5 months on the game and I think you owe me a refund.

You have killed this game.

Wow I have only spent about $30 on this game and I thought I was upset. I can't even imagine how you feel, I sure hope they take the monetary fact into concern while looking at these posts. Unfortunately they probably can't afford to pay people to work because their income probably tanked after this update. I sincerely hope this game can be salvaged before it goes obsolete.
