Mk V Furnace

So I have 1400 crystals, enough to get a Mk V furnace and take my boba to gear 10. However, I'm getting kind of curious and wondering if I should spend those crystals on energy refreshes instead. The only problem is that the furnaces are SO hard to get. Am I better off buying the furnace from shipments or should I use energy refreshes and farm it.

  • Using shipment prices is a good way to determine when cantina energy is worth it as well.

    150 crystals for 3 shards.
100 crystals for 120 energy. At a 12 energy battle, that's 10 battles. At a 1/3 drop rate that's 3.3334 shards per cantina refresh. That means you are paying 100 crystals for 3 shards for the first two cantina refreshes, after that it is 200 crystals for 3 shards, 400, etc. That means it is actually cheaper to farm characters out of shipments than cantina after your first two cantina refreshes too.
  • Yes, throw crystals at it. You can farm them through Rancor raids, but so many characters need so many furnaces that by the time you complete one, I assure you that you'll still have someone who needs it.

If Boba needs it now, Boba gets it now.

You have two options if you want more furnaces than the Rancor is giving you. You can buy them outright from the shard shop, or for 1400 crystals, which is generally considered one of the best gear deals, or you can buy furnace salvage from the guild or shard shops and build them. The Mk6 hyposyringes are challenge gear, but you need so many of them they are always in short supply, and the Mk3 holoprojectors are ridiculously overused, as well as being the only 20 piece gear you can't buy whole from the guild shop.

Unless you are lower level then the holoprojectors are sold whole for 1219 currency I'm sure?

Furnace is a great deal, actually the best deal of any item in any store.

The five-pack of complete Mark IV Droid Callers is also a very good deal in the spaceship shop. Beats the heck out of collecting the salvage pieces when you have a lot of characters who need to get through that step of their gearing.
