You can customize all you want but when a few people that hover in the top-5 get super lucky with secondary stats and Old Ben has 200+ speed and so does ST Han, all the customization in the world doesn't do ****. Maybe, just maybe if you have Rex and get some good Tenacity secondary stats and can get him to 90%+ Tenacity, but I have yet to see that too and I've spent a LOT of crystal refreshes on Mod challenges and often refresh the Mod Store. There's good strategy and planning, and there's sheer dumb-luck and it's starting to seem that dumb-luck is better than smart planning. You need a combination of dumb-luck and good planning.
Yesterday I fought a +200 speed OB, STH, RG, Qgj and Rey. No matter what I did OB would block my abilities and I was stuck targeting STH, giving them TM like it was crazy and I ended up losing 2 or 3 times. So I switched out GS for Yoda and guess what? Battle Meditation trumped OB's speed and block ability.
It's not just about mods..it's the toons you use and choose. Without Yoda I wouldn't have beat that team yesterday. I don't care how lucky someone gets with mods..they are still beatable if you have the right toons to counter them. Yesterday I proved that.
You're missing what I'm saying. This is a real team I face everyday. ST Han has almost 210 speed I think, this guy got seriously lucky on some secondary stats, his circle mod has +21 speed. ST Han goes first, period; his Old Ben is very fast as well (got lucky with more Health Mods with mega speed secondaries), so he goes 2nd, not a damn thing I can do about, my team is blocked, done. I do have Rex and I have 93% Tenacity on him, guess what... Old Ben still ability blocks him and he only has 49% Potency. There's nothing you can do against that even with Yoda or Rex. I still win, just put in a squad of tanky characters and hope for good RNG, not much else to do. I farm Mods everyday since they came out up to the 800 crystal refresh and I have never seen a circle mod with 21 speed on it or any of the other mods he has with these huge speed secondaries. It's pure luck and nothing else. I don't mind losing to a superior constructed team, I have a problem losing to dumb-luck.
It's nothing about luck. Luck gets u maybe a 1~3 decent mods with speed secondaries. Peeps with a full team deck all around with mega speed secondaries mods have been farming shipments hardcore for it
He's actually a friend of mine and I farm more than he does, how is it NOT luck? That's his main arena squad and that's all he runs. The team is built around a super-fast ST Han and Old Ben because he has the mods to do it. I literally have 40 5-star circle mods, none of them have 21 speed. How is that not luck? It's not skill. Granted he was smart enough to build a solid team around those mods, but without those mods the team functions a lot differently. There are two other squads very similar in the top-10.
It's not him being lucky... It's you being unlucky..
If you really have as many mods as he has (500+), and none of them have decent +15/20 speed, then the game hates you and you should quit.
I totally agree with akiraine, it's not luck he has... It's just determination and a lot of crystal to buy so many mods, and get 1/2 worthy for each 10/20 he buys...
