The possibly unintentional irony in your statement being that The Clone Wars is where Lucas proved the merit of the prequel storyline.

If by the end of watching The Clone Wars, you are still a prequel hater, you never never grasped Lucas' foundational premise of the entire series to begin with... at it's core Star Wars has always been a modern tragic allegory to World War II with a focus on the choices individuals make which, for better or worse, alter family legacies and potentially the course of history.
