My Questions Weren’t Answered...

I submitted three questions for the Q&A today, but none of them were answered. Could you guys at CG please answer them? I don’t know if you just didn’t have time for them or what, but I had some important ones here:

1: Where’s Jedi Knight Luke? He’s been in every loading screen since the game’s release, but he’s still not a playable character. Is he the endgame or something?
2: The recent rework for Jedi Knight Anakin was okay, but I still think he could be better. I have an idea for a new rework for him. Do you guys like looking at fanmade kits?
3: The Road Ahead said a lot, but it’s still kinda vague. What is this iconic power, exactly? Is it going to shake up the meta and throw Darth Revan off of his throne?

    1. they will never say when a character is coming
    2. im sure they look but dont take much into consideration. fan made kits are just made for fun and usually arent that well balanced overall, imo
    3. they did anwser that technically. its going to increases units stats based on thier role, and will make people who shine probably shine more.
Q: Will these iconic pieces just make meta character even more powerful or will this be an opportunity to rebalance the whole roster of characters?
A: 154M - Every single character will get an item. Specifically, what we're trying to do with the power granted from this new system is create better defined "classes" out of our existing archetypes (attacker / taunt / support / healer / etc.). So while the "angularity" of abilities still means that characters with incredible abilities will still be incredible no matter what, we're hoping that this serves as a rebalancing factor over time similar to G13.

    1) They almost never answer questions like, "Is character X coming?" or, "When will character X come?" unless it's something that they're already ready to announce. They've talked about Jedi Knight Luke in the past. He will come eventually. But it will be a major milestone in the life of the game, just like Commander Luke was. There is no statement of when, but I would not be surprised if Jedi Knight Luke specifically was a push pin on the five year plan.

    2) Most creatives do not look at fan works for liability reasons, even and especially if the fan creators are eager for the creatives to do so. It can put a bug in their ear, even if they don't mean it to, and influence things down the line, which yes is what you as a fan creator want, but it opens the door for legal complications that no creative wants.

    3) They answered this one, in many many forms. Similar questions got lumped together for the Q&A, and there was an entire section on iconic items. What you see in the Road Ahead and the Q&A are what they are ready to release at this time.

    Unless that character is Porkins.

  • I think 1 and 3 were very well covered.

    2. I can tell you that yes many if the team like looking at the fan made kits. No they dont plan on using them, and even if they did character and kit generation is a multi step process that involves many parties and a lot of back and forth. Things change.
