Naboo Raid...

I want to start that I loved the Naboo raid at the start. It was a fun new puzzle to figure out. But several months on now I must say this is probably the single biggest chore in the game and I fully dread every week when the raid starts now.

So the question I would like to ask folks is does anyone even still like this raid. Does anyone even remotely find it fun or engaging content to do every week? Visually it is great and then theme is spot on to the movie with the ground and space pieces so it is great in that aspect.

I have 4 teams built:

  •  Gungans w/jar jar at r7.
  • I have QA and bros at R5(still taking to R7)
  •  I have Lumi, Kit, KAM, Plo, Qui at R5
  • I have B2, Maul, Sidious, IG-100, droideka at R5

It literally take me 2-5 hours every week to remod and run multiple attempts becasue of the crap rng or the stupid healing is just crazy strong and if you can't nuke a char in a single turn it will just be full healed and that just means you have wasted valuable enrage and time. I am sick of it. I have played 2 accounts for over 3 years and I would regular spend on both(not kraken or whale but conquest passes and crystal packs). I have fully quit my second account about a month ago because the raid is too much effort and time to spend every week. The only positive I see from this raid is that gungan omi lets me press auto but even that isn't a sure thing and sometimes have to restart it over because of droideka shield crap.

One of my biggest issues is that from the very basics of the raid design it is built as a giant F U to the player base. Not only is every tier gated behind gear requirements forcing you to bring up relics. Even after you hit that gear you have stupid high mod checks after that too. I'll admit I don't care much for mods so don't invest much in them but even after bringing a full team to R5 which is a big investment if you don't have really good mods then you are not clearing or max score. The double whammy of reqs is a slap in the face from CG. One or the other, either make me gear or put crazy mod checks but to add both and then still have a lot of RNG is just bad and it makes me not want to engage with the game nearly as much. especially when you add in having to deal with conquest being an absolute chore and slog to get through it really adds up to hurting the game experience. Why is one attempt with my Lumi squad hit enrage in wave 4-5 but then other times I hit max score with only 80% enrage. That is far too much of a swing when using the same mods and overall strategy.

LOTR HOME had the exact same issue, I loved the raid at first it was great fun with unique phases but then there was so much rng that I was spending hours and hours retrying for that perfect RNG that I just quit playing(funny enough a week before the closure announcement because week over week there wasn't any real improvement. If you kept gearing you could bump up a tier maybe but then it was still just an RNG fest and there was never a feeling of improvement because extra gear just resulted in the same phase but bigger numbers and still RNG.

Thoughts? am I isolated in this?

I can get over 3 mil with QA Pobi MQ and R2, but it takes a bunch of tries to do that.  I use the b2, b1, magna, Darth Maul and Sidious team on tier 6 along with gungans.  Both of those I can put on auto and "usually" they do 2.7.  BUT, the RNG having a variance of 1-99%, sometimes those teams get 300-400K and it's over.  Why?  Because CG wants to make getting rewards more annoying so we aren't as motivated to get them.  We shouldn't have to spend hours on one event of the GAME everyday.  And we know you want us to, but we shouldn't have to relic our entire roster to R9 to play your event at the optimal level.

For the two Jedi teams,  it's literally anywhere between 200k and 1.6 mil because of, again, the 1-99% RNG factor that CG relies on way too much.  Sometimes I don't bother trying after a few attempts though because I've noticed that even if I drop my GL mods on the teams, that is irrelevant and the score can still be anything.

It's boring to watch a bunch of B1s take 400 turns every time I blink.  I can get them down to one nodule of health left and if their turn is next, wala! they're all healed back up again.  Yeah, that's soooooo fun.

Endor was better and less time consuming.  There was also a lot less RNG, so good job adding more to this one CG!

You're making me want to play less and less everyday CG.  So if that's your goal, along with becoming a duplicate of EA, then congratulations I guess.

I've been disliking the new raids since they came out, starting with Krayt Dragon. I appreciate the new raids and think it's interesting to slim down our attempts by limiting which characters are used, but i also dread the raids every time they launch. The first one or two weeks are great, but after that I see a raid launch, roll my eyes, and think about when I can find the time to put in the effort. The only reasons to try the battles again are for better scores, which requires some rng, or for trying out new teams.

The past few years the game has been adding a lot of content, and only about half of it can be SIMmed or effectively auto'd. No point in getting a 3* rank in something only to find I have to manually play it every time it comes around. Some of the worst offenders, for me, include the Ultimate Journey Event (which comes after conquests) and, what I've named, Struggler's Run II. I still haven't beaten SLKR's even at 1 star, so I don't even attempt that one anymore. The latter of which I can consistently win and have 3 starred, but since I can't SIM or auto it, the event takes 30 minutes out of my day when it comes around as I have to manually play.

While I'd like more things to be SIMmed, since that feature already exists, I think raid-wise that would also be something to have CG consider. Allow SIMming the raid under the conditions that (1) you use your previous score and (2) once you have submitted a battle score, for better or worse, even if using a same team, you cannot SIM for this iteration and must do all the battles.

I've settled on this as a score Im happy with and a fairly quick run through:

    Gunghans R7 Auto. 1.8m

QA,MQJ,PK,R2- 1.8m (this took retries until I put Kenobi up to R8, and Artoos unique helps get him to 10.5k damage but now a single try).

Lumi team using Yoda and KAM - 1.2m

B2, Maul, Sidious, Droideka, Nute- 900k

Kelleren Beq and the rest - minimum 500k on 900k level.

This gets me the 6.2m rewards with only a retry or two on the spare jedi team with no remodding needed each time.

  • My thoughts on this raid? NO, NO, NO nO No. HELL NO, Frack you Droids, NO And again NO. No matter what the sollutions are, we should not be the ones that finds them rather than CG! PERIOD. And they do not care. Again! Always :)))))
