New idea: Faction bonus

Hey everyone me and some guild mates were talking about the game and how the arena now is just a kebab of the most op characters; gk nihilus thrawn r2 and normally Zarris.

After some discussion we thought it would be fun to introduce this idea of faction bonuses as a way to encourage people to use factions together instead of just relying on the leadership. Of course that plays a huge role in and of itself, but, a faction bonus could be an added layer to consider as it is seen in many other games. A simple example that comes to mind was in Dragon Age where if you wore an entire suit of the same type you would gain additional bonuses.

For example:
First Order. If you using an entire First Order squad all toons gain an additional 50% crit damage
Resistance. All units have a 10% chance to gain foresight at the end of their turn.

Etc etc. Something relevant to the current bonuses/abilities of that squad but not something already included in a leadership/unique. We thought this would be a fun idea to reintroduce many players to the power behind unified factions and add another layer of depth to characters and strategies.

Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated!
  • Good idea. I think arena has gotten rather tedious for the reasons you allude too and there are you many dog's dinners held together simply by a good leader (Rex). There should be an incentive for factions instead of just inserting Nihilus into a lightside team and hiding him behind Chaze or GK.
    The other idea that I quite like is if you don't incentivise team factions then add penalties to multi-faction squads. I.e. Increase Nihilus' cooldown if used with LS toons.
