Executor Capital Ship - who goes first in mirror matches

Kinda as the title says.  Can anyone shed light if there is something I’m missing that would explain why 99% of the time, the opponent capital ship always attacks first in arena?

I have R9 Piett, same 194 speed etc as all opponents.  I really don’t believe it’s random 50/50 and it’s beyond frustrating.   AI always barrages XB, blows it up, basically game over.  I used to like the arena climb and it’s honestly the most despised aspect of this game now.

  • All capital ships have RNG set up so that the player goes second 90% of the time. It doesn't matter if it's the ult or the first move.

I came here to say something very similar. Start a ship battle, my opponent goes first, watch my Xanadu Blood or Punishing One get annihilated, then wait for 9 1/2 mins until I can watch it happen again. Occasionally I win despite going 2nd, occasionally, if I somehow get a dodge. I hate ships. If they were removed from the game I wouldn't miss them.

  • Start recording and tracking who goes first. A 50/50 chance doesn't mean you will alternate every time. You can have streaks where it's one side or another.

Okay, I won't. If only the developers would rework the RNG so that players would go first more often.

Players go first ~50% of the time. Its just a handful of users who claim otherwise

True. My guess though is it is not an even 50/50. Maybe 60/40 in the ai's favor.

There is the logic that if younflipma coin 100x and comes up heads 100x, what the odds the next time is tails? Answer 50%.

Assuming 50/50, any 1 try the odds are even. If it were truly even i would most likely see the occasionall 9/10 runs where i go first. That has never happened. Had many 0/5, 1/10, etc type runs. I tracked my first 10 days after the tie dagfer chanfe fiasco and it was deplorable.  It is managable now, but would i say 50/50? No. I would buy 60/40 though. Those first 10 days were 90/10.

It doesn't mean that YOU will see runs where you go first a lot of the time. Someone will. I've definitely had days where I go first 4 out of 5. People having large streaks aren't coming on the forums to grab about it. Likewise, people who are averaging the 50/50 aren't proclaiming it from the heavens. You only see the posts from the people who are mad about their bad streaks. So there is definitely a selection bias.

We really don't have sufficient evidence to suggest it's not 50/50.
