This + it was never stated that the 2nd raid currency is earned at the same rate (although, it probably is).
Sounds about right... Earn at same rate with same caps.... Need more to open the new gear gate...... Make new gear take even longer to obtain.
In short another long grind.
How can we drag this out as long as possible? I know! Don't let them run as many raids!
Seriously, though, I hope drop rates aren't horrendous...
With the character shard leveling from position 4 onwards, I wouldnt be surprised if the total number of shard rewards per raid increased. This alone would justify a cost increase to start the raid.
Unfortunately I have become very skeptical at things like this, because well track record of everything normally sounds way better than it actually is.
Hope for the best assume the worst.
So my assumption is:
Raise raid cost
Reduce total number of shards per raid
Raise costs to earn tickets to open the raid
Reduce gear dropped per raid
Funny thing is this information could be shared now as it has no bearing on the actually testing of the raid or suspense/surprise of the new character.
