New Relic System - Different Take
I have a different take on the relic system. I completely understand the frustration of another grind. I don’t even have G13 toon but I’m still excited.
What if the goal was to diversify the meta and make more teams viable. How would you do it without re-working every character? Gear 13 won’t work because it doesn’t change the base stats of each character. This relic system does fundamentally change each character. It starts the theory crafting completely over without going to level 90. Reworks seem to be expensive to CG, ensuring the new abilities don’t break the game. To me this is way better than the other options to make older characters more useful.
In my opinion the handling of the Revans was ridiculous and an unsustainable business model. Simply leapfrogging over and over again makes the game stale and leads to more complaints than praise or at least it’s what I’ve observed.
The purpose of the new relic system seems to be a complete revitalization of the game, which is refreshing. Players should have more choice and freedom while exploring the new relics rather than the current system of waiting for new meta toons. Additionally, this will not be based on randomness like mods. This new system appears let you choose your favorite characters and play style and see what happens. This sounds way more appetizing than where the game was headed. I’m hopeful for where the game is going...
