No way. Not feasible. It makes no tactical sense to put the shield generator outside the shield. Even the Rebels on Hoth knew that. The shield generator was on the ground, projecting the shield overhead. **** er, I mean, gee whiz, even the Gunguns knew enough to put the generator inside the shield.
