That's not going to happen. Now that we're past the RO hype, they need to fill the space. What better than the Rebels TV show to do that with? Honestly, most of the characters people tend to ask for are largely unknown, while the characters from Rebels are not. They added a faction tag, you can expect several more in the next couple months.

Oh I do, hence my disappointment. Star Wars Rebels are a new breed. Most of the names people clamour for are very well known. (Revan, Bossk, Jango, etc). If anything I'd say more people know less about these new characters then the old classic ones

"Very well known" is a stretch. Bossk is obscure, and Revan is technically Legends. Before this game, the I had no idea that Revan and Bossk were real names, much less characters.

A stretch?!? What throw pillow in the Disney store have you been hiding under? Bossk is a big name in the SW universe, as well as the majority of toons people have been asking for. Rebels however, most of us would have to ask our kids about, as we're too busy playing GOH to watch that.

This is my point. It's all perception. You think Rebels is less known and I think Legends and randos are lesser known. The fact remains this is a Disney game, so of course they're going to tie in to current media as much as possible.

For the record, no throw pillow. I just never paid attention to characters that were on screen for 15 seconds, or Legends. Also for the record, that attitude is why people don't like SW nerds. You get all high and mighty about obscure characters, and refuse to acknowledge anything that you haven't paid attention to.

This would be a much more limited game if the only characters we could use were ones who haven't died on screen. Although it'd be nice to see Wiggs gone, since Biggs got shot down in the first Death Star raid. And no Rogue One characters whatsoever, so the platform war would never have happened. The heroic raids would have very different rewards. None of the Jedi currently in the game would be there, no Palps or Vader...

Just so it's known, I want getting high and mighty. Bossk isn't obscure, he was even in multiple episodes of clone wars. Jango and bossk aren't legends and revan is as much legends as nihilus was.

Too bad they just didn't give them the "Phoenix Squad" tag (or Phoenix Squad Rebels) and leave it at that. Kannan and Ezra will likely get Jedi tags too, another faction which doesn't exactly need more members.

I guess it adds a tiny bit of variety - Wiggs, Lando, STHan and ooo, which 5th wheel Rebel did they pick...?

Isn't the Star Wars universe based largely around the rebellion? If anything they haven't given us enough.

The universe is far bigger than the original trilogy.

There was 3 movies, 4 but the 4th was launch of the series and a TV series revoving around clones and jedi vs spereratists.

There was 4 movies and a TV series revolving around the rebels vs empire

There is 1 movie revolving around resistance vs first order.

The majority of the books are also during the time of rebels vs empire or post clone wars pre resistance.

I know the game is not beholding to canon but pretty sure there are more named rebel characters in Canon then any other.

As others have said Disney is involved in characters added to game I am sure.

I would say Most star wars fans are already playing the game. So the market is getting new fans, which are those coming from new movies and currently running TV show.

I just realized, I'd probably be just as upset as the Rebels haters are about Chopp if they added more prequel characters like Padme or heaven forbid -- another clone. I would be even more upset if Jar Jar was added. But then I would take a breath, realize that I don't have to farm them, and move on.

Or, if they were interesting enough, I would fit them into a team composition. So far I've been lucky enough that most of my favorite characters have had decent releases or reworks. But ultimately, the character is just the skin for the mechanics underneath.

Sometimes a character you don't suspect ends up having a pivotal role in your squad; I play the game as much for the squad-building strategies as I do because of my Star Wars obsession. It helps when it is a character you like, but I have no problem playing with Tie Fighter Pilot (it helps that I had the action figure as a kid, and that the helmet looks really cool).
