Older Conquest Shards

Are there any plans to revise the existing system for older conquest shard characters in regards to or adding on top of the current monthly event? Just curious since the Leviathan requires 2 units that both come from conquest. And this creates a massive wall for acquiring the new capital ship for newer players, returning players and any players that might have missed previous conquest events or not had strong enough rosters at the time to efficiently clear hard mode during the events for Malgus and the Fury class interceptor. People starting fresh on these units will need well over a year per unit depending if they can even clear the character stages to farm the monthly event and then also with shards from the new currency and conquest store. It just seems rather extreme to require the 2 most recent conquest units to unlock the new capital ship. Personally, I already have Malgus, but wasn't able to play much during the 1st two Fury interceptor conquests. So it's not a big deal for me since I'll just need to farm the fury now in the currency stores and monthly event, but it seems like a lot for people who will need to farm both units.

Then they probably wont have much access to R9 materials anyway ... and then Leviathan is not attainable anyway.

2 conquest units ... 4 marquee units ... 2,500 kyrotechs ... Potato, potato, potato. Everything in the game is a grind. Also: JMK is a GL, but he is more or less a B tier toon without CAT, who is farmable only from the monthly event. Same goes for LV and Maul although not as obviously as with JMK/CAT. So for the pinnacle of fleet battles to require 2 conquest units, is probably quite okay.

Well ... "weren't able" means that you didn't prioritize the game as much as the people who actually went and achieved red crate for 3 straight conquests. Isn't it okay, that they are given an advantage for actually putting in the effort over the course of 3 months and 3 two-week events ?

Well ... they can do both unit farms simultaneously ... and they can pay to refresh the nodes to make the farm quicker. Just like with everything else in the game.

To sum it up: No. Currently there is no need for a short cut for people who missed out so far. They can keep grinding and in time get their rosters up to a level, where they can clear hard conquest and get the red crate. Historically, CG has introduced ways to easier get hold of stuff as the game has progressed further - that'll probably happen again later. Perhaps when conquest is no longer the primary way to get endgame units (or requirements for endgame units).
  • Don't forget, that you also need min 4M GP, so every new/smaller player already has a long time to wait, before they even can start to get the shards.

I agree that there should be something that helps these players in the future so they won't have to play for at least 2-3 years before they even can get started on these characters or the new fleet. It is a very long time and the new meta now will not be the meta anymore in 3 years. But maybe then CG will make them more accessible.

Someone mentioned that these smaller players will not have the relic 8/9 mats anyway. I disagree here strongly. While it is hefty, you can buy the mats with chrystals.

So all in all I just hope that the longer the characters and ships are in the game, the more they will be made available in different ways.

That’s true, but with the kind of price tag that such an investment would be needed surely such sums of crystals would be better spent elsewhere, especially for earlier game players.

Once again, newer players will not have access to what older players get. Always find it funny how everyone expects to get the new shiny toy when they have only played this game a little.
  • With proving grounds the way it is you can get Malgus within six months if you do multiple refreshes. Fury might take longer at this point, but if you don’t have access to hard conquest at this point are you likely to have the kind of access to r8/9 mats which DR and Malak require too?

Most of your issues you mentioned were answered by you already, crystals.

    Need more GP, crystals
Something to help players in the future so they dont have to wait 2-3 years, crystals

I would say it depends on what you're going for.

From the beginning I concentrated deeply on fleets because I knew, getting a good position will enable me to get more crystals which in turn enables me to grow my roster faster. Which is why I could afford all the refreshes in the last 2 chases and buy the relic mats for R8 and 9 for the new fleet. So to me for example it is no question that I will be going for the new fleet so I can keep the Status Quo on my crystal income.
Also, eventhough it is not much, the new Raid currency also can be used to buy some relic mats. Maybe not so many, but still better than nothing. ?

After all this is a resource management game and players can choose what to spend their crystals for which is why it wouöd be nice for newer players to be able to also make those decisions (being able to get the necessary toons and ships).

In relation to those whom think everyone wants everything right away: I don't think this is what OP meant. It at least is not what I mean. But if a character or ship is in the game for a longer time, I think it is not unreasonable to wish for them to be made more available exactly because they are not the new shiny anymore. CAT for example is in the game for how long now? 2 years? She is "needed" for GL Kenobi so of course it is understandable that players wish for her to be more available down the line.
When someone now decides for their first GL for example it is not the same anymore as it was for those longer players. For them it kind of was decided which GL they would get because of how they were released. But now a new player can choose between 7 GLs, which is actually quite nice, so I understand where OP and others are coming from.

But as I said in my previous comment, as with everything else I believe they will be made more available along the way.
