One final plea for transparency
Hi Developers, Jesse, Moderators and other Gentle Folk,
As we move closer to the release of a new raid, which looks great and seems exciting, I hope you'll listen to this (amongst all the many other) posts asking for more transparency, communication and partnership with us, the players.
I won't go on too much; it's been said already, likely better than I can (but I'd be remiss if I did not say something); but we really cannot take/deal with another update debacle like we had with the mods. Not only would it be devastating from a game play perspective, but also, it would mean that all of our anger, frustration and hopes had gone unheard.
In other words, we feel that you have already operated in bad faith and are still in that place where we do not trust you. And to he be honest, this does not feel great. Sure, we appreciate the efforts made to fix the issues; the updates stopped the bleeding if you will, and the weekend was helpful.
But, and I want to be crystal clear here: so far nothing has been done to address the other major symptoms (i.e. game problems) or any of the underlying causes. In fact, the relative radio silence about what happened and what is going to happen, just makes us feel more anxious and worried. It seems like you have not gotten the message.
Every time I realize how many people in my guild left the game and how quiet our "chat" has gotten, I am reminded about how on edge I (and many others) feel about what is coming up next. We have not been reassured, we have not been smoothed over, and we do not trust you.
What would remedy this situation is more communication with us. Letting us in more, talking about mistakes, helping us to see how you are thinking, giving us a sense of what's coming next (talk about changes in game mechanics is cryptic, it does not generate thrills, but fear) where the game is going and so forth.
Until you can treat us as partners I fear you will continue to alienate us and that would be a shame.
Respectfully though not hopefully,
Yama
