I think what you are describing is what bothers me, with a new release and new characters featuring so much but being released slowly, I also take a big dip in my score, my score is approx 30% as previously. I was finishing up a project when new BB was released so, slow farming them as wanted to prioritise the time limited mace event. For which I have spent some money to accelerate DS clones and JV for mace requirements, just 3 left so should have him on the first re-run I also have all existing pirates and most JV at R5-R8. I spent last time on Gungans for the Jar Jar event so this time my cost was an extra 2 characters. So my spending has inflated. I too do not mind rushing characters, if I can get back within a few weeks and we know it lasts a year this time, so roi is for longer. But it feels like I am working on more than last time and I am not sure I will get more rewards overall and it will take longer to get back the same.
Whilst I appreciate scrybe helping the community finding these 300k solos to fill in teams we are working on or do not have. I had more teams ready to 1.2M at the start last time with the same level of effort.
Agree with most of what you said.
I also want to see the pathway to getting back to where my guild was. We have no idea when an appropriate Pirate squad will come online. We don't know when the DS clones will all be farmable, etc. For those reasons, we can't look ahead with any sort of plan -- hardly even with any hope. That requires seeing how we're going to get from 5m to 12M (or 3M to 7M or whatever it is for individual peeps).
They haven't even released specific Raid omis to help players who are struggling to meet their expected Guild contribution. That won't be me, I will probably be average this raid and above average next and top 5-8 after that, but by definition you have 15-20 ppl in each guild who are going to struggle with their contributions. That, of course, punishes entire guilds.
There should be no shortcut to awesome, but I'm not asking for a shortcut to awesome. I'm asking for
- A roadmap to awesome, so that we can plan and farm the right resources (including shards), etc.
- A timeline to "good" that isn't excessive. Guilds need to be able to get back to their previous income. After all, that income (by definition) wasn't trashing the economy, so why is it necessary to depress guild rewards so much for an indefinite amount of time?
- A shortcut to just-below-average. This can be done with raid Omis that don't add a ton to r9 squads, but add quite a lot to r3-r7 squads. CG can also make this dependent on the relic levels of the Omi toon, so that you can take ONE toon to r7/r8 on an r3 squad and see huge benefits in raid performance, with the promise that you'll continue to see more benefit as that squad relics up to r5 and r7
A shortcut-to-average gives players who are underperforming for whatever reason (9M-11M players have very strong rosters and can be in great guilds, but that's not enough to have every faction complete -- with bad luck those players could be lacking specific beneficial factions) a focussed strategy for development, 1 omi, 1 toon to r7/r8 which is kinda high, but certainly achievable, and then 4 toons to r3, later r5, and if the player is happy with them, then later to r7/r8. It's important that ppl who are struggling have this shortcut-to-average because otherwise the player and the guild both get frustrated. We want ppl in 48th place to raise their scores to what ppl in 28th place are getting. And we want them, again, to see the roadmap to getting there and see it well enough that they can have an idea of how long it should take.
Anyway, that's how I see it. When the last raid came out I also wrote up a eval of what we should expect from new raids, and even then I was saying that guilds should have a path back to previous reward levels that takes only ~1 month. With a longer time to recoup an investment, ~6 weeks is probably okay, though I would still prefer 1 month, with the benefit of whaling on new toons restricted mostly to PVP and just a short window at the beginning of a new raid. Not this indefinite purgatory with no idea when we will even be able to farm toons.
This just sucks.
