There needs to be an option for new players to play past marquee events, maybe a tab in the journey guide? I didn’t play my account for a few months and missed the Gungans and now I’m just screwed. If new players get marquee characters at 3 stars it’s not breaking the game, but it definitely alleviates a lot of frustrated new players.
They have started rerunning marquee events - without the options of daily shards but you can get an unlock and then farm away. If they are already farmable then these characters are the same as the OG ones - you get to farm them.
I like the idea of opening up Marquee events more often until the characters are farmable. It reduces potential burnout from people who need to step away for a bit, while also allowing them to realize that they will not fall behind so far when they return. I once took a year off from playing and when I returned there were so many new characters that it took almost as long, maybe longer, to get caught up and actually be able to compete with others.
I think this is where accelerated characters comes in. If anyone steps away from the game for any amount of time I think they expect to be behind - and that’s ok. If n reality - missing shipments once a week because you sleep in on Sundays would put you slightly behind in this style of game - it’s a small reward for people who prioritize never missing anything.
