Paying for free to play content

Just came back to the game just curious as to what CG has done with the game and boy was I not surprised. I went to play a galactic challenge only to find out I can’t complete it unless I 5 star a new marquee character and that I buy a $20 pass. I honestly didn’t think CG could get any worse but I was wrong. I remember when this event use to be free to play. I guess the next time I come back the only way to log back in is the buy the log in pass for $20 a week.
