Please Bring Back Galactic Challenges
Can we please bring Galactic Challenges back into the game - or at least have something similar introduced?
I'm not someone who dislikes the new era content overall, and I appreciate the effort that goes into evolving the game. But the removal of Galactic Challenges has probably had the biggest negative impact on day-to-day enjoyment that I've personally felt.
GC's were the one piece of content that gave us something new to play on a frequent basis. They encouraged creative team building, gave value to older or underused characters, and provided a fun place to test recently upgraded units before using them in more competitive modes. Most importantly, they gave players something to look forward to when logging in.
Right now, much of the game feels very repetitive:
- Coliseum is a loop of the same few bosses.
- Territory Battles follow the same patterns each cycle.
- Many events are complete once and then simmed forever.
- Galactic War and challenges are fully simmed
- Raids are repeating the same teams over and over.
- Even GC often comes down to similar GL matchups.
Without Galactic Challenges, there's very little content that feels fresh or experimental. Conquest comes close, but because of the heavy feat requirements and datacron farming, it often becomes more about grinding objectives than simply enjoying new gameplay.
GC's were different. They were a place to experiment, use older teams, try new upgrades, and just have something fun to do when logging in. They added variety and gave the game a sense of constant activity.
Lately, I've found myself logging in, looking around for a few minutes, realizing there's nothing new to play, and logging off again. From a player engagement standpoint - and even from a spending standpoint - that lack of excitement makes a difference. I haven't spent in months because there's no content pushing me to build or try new teams.
For the long-term health of the game, I really hope you consider bringing back GC's or introducing a similar mode that offers frequent, creative, and experimental gameplay.
