We can finish T6 about 3.5 days with a third of the guild not really doing anything and doing T7 now.
It's long, boring, rewards are not proportional to the effort and is such a long gap from Rancor to T6 then T6 to heroic. People line up eagerly to do Rancor T7 but nobody wants to do the daily grind of AAT even threatening with expulsion if they do not do their "duty".
While it's nice if some can view it as their "Everest", metrics will make the decision and as they stated its twice as hard as they wanted which is probably based on participation and completion rates for the user base.
Everest is awesome the first time but that feeling of accomplishment will soon fade when someone tells you that you need to do it every 4 days and you have no choice.
