Weren't there character gifts specific to your device? I'm on a Samsung and got an IG-86 at the start. I thought it was cool and immediately thought of what other characters Apple device's would have gotten. I have gotten used to being shunned for not having a particular type of device because I mainly used a Kindle before my Samsung. You can't even get this game on a Kindle's modified Android operating system. Now that is something to think about. And on my daughter's Android, a something-or-other-free-from-Verizon-gift-from-Grandma, she didn't get any type of free character to begin with. I'm pretty sure as someone pointed out, these "perks" are a form of gratuitous advertising from the companies, in this case Google and in my case Samsung.
Now I'm curious whether there was a free character given to Apple Device users. Did anyone get one?
Nope no free toon you guys got the Samsung starter pack also all I got was dark side starter but like you say it's apples fault for not advertising the game really or androids for been clever
Exactly it's either apple lagging behind or Google finding a way to promote themselves.
No, it's greedy EA accepting money even if it means alienating half their playerbase
I don't think all the games that are part of Google Play Month are EA games. I have a feeling they picked top selling games that draw the most money/player base to their play store.
Don't bring logic into this emotional fume fest
The logic is sound
"Do this for us and we'll give you money"
I think we all understand that. The other truth is that this alienates half the playerbase. So it seems like you're the one trying to avoid the truth and logic. But keep defending these multibillion dollar companies. I'm sure they appreciate it lmao
If customers aren't satisfied with a provider whether it be gaming industry, cell/tv/internet provider, restaurant, etc then they should show that by not giving money and time to said providers anymore.
That is why we're expressing our opinions, to dissuade easily manipulated people to stay away from the Venus flytrap, so to speak
That's fine but there's people sprouting of about morals and legality over it"CPMP;194557" wrote:

To all the people saying "it's marketing" or comparing it to Xbox and PS4 exclusives. Here's the difference, you're NOT playing against other PS4 players while you're playing on your Xbox.
To justify a game played between players via cross platform and support isolated marketing you're a scumbag. I'm not going to go buy an android because of a game nor would anyone else with a brain. Also if it is because Apple doesn't pay EA for exclusives, I don't blame them for not supporting that junk. If this "event" is true, this game won't see another penny from me.
And i'm competing against whales with 7* Rey, yoda, old ben....Does this make it fair for f2p? Are there separated shards for f2p and p2p? No.
There is nothing unfair with that event. You can get the same droids shards, ability mats and training droid in roughly 1 week.
Seriously? F2P and P2P are cross server.. Droid event is not. So your argument fell right on top of itself."CPMP;194557" wrote:

That's a completely separate issue. And I think you'll find that most people opposed to this exclusive event, or the mentality behind it, are also opposed to the mentality behind pressuring F2Pers or low spenders to spend more money to compete against whales."MrClean621;194616" wrote:

I think it's pretty clear that EA/CG are getting a nice little kick back for holding an exclusive android event. It's becoming pretty apparent that money is the ONLY thing driving this machine.
Wow a major business being driven by money...what a magical concept
Oh we have a wise guy here. I'm guessing you have no business background whatsoever huh? Obviously all businesses are driven by money. Do you know how you keep making money? By keeping your customer base happy. Do you know how you lose money? By alienating half of your customer base.
At any rate... I'm not too concerned about this until I see exactly what happens. Who knows... There maybe an iOS event in the future too.
I understand that but EA gets voted as the worst company almost every year but people still pour money into their titles. If people were that unhappy then that should be reflected in reduced profits for the company right? I'm not being a wise guy, just saying that the only way a company is going to change anything about their business model is if affects the bottom line.- scuba759 years agoRising TravelerW

Ok I'm on Android so will get the event.
Anyway - android and iOS are the two major platforms so I'm guessing you all know someone with an android device you could likely borrow. I found this link about merging a Google play and game center ID.

Unfortunately that is only for GREE, INC games will not work with EA/CG game "Chewieforlife;194643" wrote:

Those people are gambling addicts or easily gullible people who've never experienced the evils of IAPs. You think its happy satisfied customers spending all their money here or any other such app?- scuba759 years agoRising TravelerI agree content should be for all.
Just want to throw something optimistic here.... I don't have faith that it will happen but hey you never know. Maybe before the release of the event EA/CG is going to make cross platform account sync a reality? A google ploy to get iOS users to use a google device "PhilosopherCody;194565" wrote:
This thread is pathetic. Seriously get a life and stop worrying about a game. If people cared this much about real life issues perhaps the world would be in a better place. If you do not like the game then stop playing it. No one is forcing you to play. Plus this event is not even out yet. Everyone looks like are panicing before it even comes out. Grow up and do something productive instead of worrying about something that you have no control over.
You're the guy joining a forum to complain about people complaining and telling them to get a life all while wasting your own life to tell everyone else to get one. Good argument homie."garublador;194648" wrote:

So three chances for relatively common items in the game is about the same as deleting our accounts and charging $1000 to get our stuff back? It's not about being a doormat, it's about picking your battles.
EA could announce tomorrow that they are deleting everything from all of our accounts and making us all start over from scratch unless we pay then $1000, and there would be some people who would come here supporting this as a wonderful decision and flaming anyone who complained about it.
It's just the nature of humanity, and especially gamers, who have a reputation as being big whiners, but are actually mostly doormats.
Well the line hasn't been drawn yet. And if it hasn't by now it never will be so he's still right"LeftyTwoGuns;194646" wrote:

But from a company's point of view why should they change if they're still making money? I just think people should take more responsibility for their own decisions. No one is forced to download or pay for any game. There's plenty of people even on the forums who are top 10 in arena and complete GW being 100% f2p
