They are divisive, unfair and make absolutely no sense to me at all.

It is totslly the point. If the provider of s majority of your customers offer you a deal, it is a big difference that if the provider of a minority of your customers offer you a de al, of of it is split 50%.
If you sell things in stores, and Wallmart wants a special offer, you give them one.
Well hopefully they make enough extra money from the Google customers to make up for all of the Apple business they will lose....
Unless Apple also offers their own events, because they also want to keep selling one of the top grossing games.

I fly a lot and the airline I use gives me a first class seat even though I pay for business class.

I am on Apple and don't see the big deal. :|

This is like getting angry because your kid favourite Pixar toons are being given as gift in McDonalds Happy Meals and you like to eat at Burguer King.- It would be cool if iOS got a reverse event - IE Android plays for the droids and the iOS peeps have to be the droid whackers. Prizes should be relevant for both teams - but not "Exclusive" as such.
