The point @Tigzie was getting at, as I understood it anyway, wasn't the trouble of building the new character, but rather how big a setback it would be for a low roster player - f2p or newbie - to lose a character in the upgrading. If you only have five 7* characters and to prestige would make you drop down to four... that's a pretty significant hit to your roster. That's one of the reasons several had stated you would probably have to keep the base character.

Yeah, I think it would need to be an in addition to thing rather than a trade one for the other thing.
