Which would have been better. Why tell us something like this is coming, something that they could easily change right now, then hold it for so long? It paints CG is a greedy light. “Hey, we are changing the relic recipe, but not until after the event that requires r8/r9! See you on the holotables!” Not a good look.

Early communication is fine and all, but waiting too long to bring the changes to the game is a bad move. Take the gear change phase 1. Was communicated almost a year ago and its still not done.....not a good look. In some cases, its better to announce things until they are almost here while others, it would better to announce things with lead time. CG's communication points to not having a real plan to me. It sporadic, lacks key details and sometimes gets released in the worst way possible.
It makes 0 PR sense to announce the relic recipe change....wait over a month (and still counting) to bring the change to the game....then require you to spend the mats you wouldn't have to if they made the change for an event. It all points to horrible communication. Why would you purposely do this to yourself?
