Protection Up vs Bonus Protection

I tried to find a good explanation to both of these but as it turned out there is none. After reading several guides and information websites i came to this conclusion:

- Both are based on the max health of the character
- Protection Up is given to any character, regardless if it has protection or not
- Bonus Protection only can be applied if the character has any protection, even if it is based on its max health

Is this right? If yes is it intended? Can you help on this @Kyno?

Also i want to refer on my thread made a while ago:
https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/183062/regenerating-bonus-protection

I never got an answer to this at Answer EA but all of a sudden i received a mail some days ago where i earned a batch for reporting a bug which almost sounds like i was right with my assumption. To make this clear - i never posted anything else over there. Maybe this is linked together in some way with the recent change that was made.

This all is very conusing and interesting at the same time, i hope we can get some answers.
  • Protection Up is a buff that can be prevented and dispelled, Bonus Protection is not a buff, so it cannot be prevented or dispelled.
  • I was thinking, perhaps bonus protection based on max health so it can work with characters below G7. If they have zero base protection then bonus protection would be meaningless. Doesn’t nest’s and Bastila’s bonus protection have the possibility of applying to a sub G7 character?
  • From my understanding anyone can receive both. That is in part the reason it is based on max health.
  • If that's true there must be another difference, otherwise it won't make sense in having both in the game at all.

    See above.

One is a buff and follows those rules, which means it can be removed like a buff and blocked like a buff.

The other can only be removed by damage equal to its amount of production.

And both are based on max health. Great, that clears it up. Would be helpful if such informations are written down in the game somewhere, in a buff/ debuff mini wiki or something like this.

Just one question left: Is it working as intended or a bug that Bonus Protection can be healed like normal health with Hermit Yoda? I know he can restore lost protection, the 'normal' version of it.
