Proving Grounds Should be a "shared" event

Hey I want to adress a problem with proving ground event, I'm an old player who got a break from the game for more than 2 years and now I'm back and trying to catch up, What the point of proving ground event if I'm going to unlock all conquest characters at some time after 1,5 year, this event should be "shared" like galactic bounty and everyone should focus in the character that he need the most,

Additionally, shards for older Conquest characters are not available in the Conquest store, which makes it even harder for returning or newer players to catch up. It feels like CG doesn’t prioritize the needs of new or returning players.

  • They definitely didn't want the average player to win any of these battles,  cant even win against these over modified battles.What joke CG

  • Proving grounds is getting pretty big so this would need guide rails to ensure players didn’t use eventually 17 separate characters’ worth of attempts to insta-unlock one character (looking at you Bane).

    I think the simplest way to implement something like this would be to allow 2 attempts per PG cycle for characters that have been in PG for over a year. CG will have the numbers - my assumption is this wouldn’t detract too much from those who purchase the conquest pass for the extra PG run each cycle, as most of those players would be chasing newer PG characters.

    It would help newer players catch up but they’d still need a developed roster to be able to compete the challenges. This may actually incentivise more spending on the stronger PG squads to get unlocks earlier.

    If it were shared like galactic bounties, wouldn't that mean you'd end up with a lot less shards per event?

    The issue with how long it takes to get older conquest characters has been an ongoing gripe since proving grounds came to the game. The good news is, you can buy the conquest pass+ and get another day of rewards from proving grounds. If you save some crystals to refresh the battle that's important to you, you can significantly accelerate acquisition of older conquest toons. 

    It's very much NOT ideal - but it does present a way forward that's ultimately fairly cheap if you consider the value of those shards AND the additional value you get from having the pass active during conquest.

  • What? If it was like Galactic Bounties you'd only get 2 tries and would slow down your own progress.

    Also why should they prioritise players who have left the game over those who stuck with it?

    What an utterly absurd and quite frankly entitled take from you.

      Ah, I see now. The key to a thriving game is to make sure only the players who never leave get to move forward. Brilliant idea—why bother with returning players or newcomers when we can just have the same few people grinding forever? Truly a visionary approach!

    I think the bigger issue is that any player that already has all of the Proving Ground characters 7* gets absolutely no benefit from Proving Grounds even existing.

      Respectfully disagree. I can see why they don’t give shards to convert to currency - so many characters x 20 shards it would become ridiculous. The real benefit of having the characters at 7* is having those characters for other game modes and getting the resulting rewards from a more developed roster.
