PSA: Gift Giving

I saw this was being worked on but i'm determined to voice my concern hopefully leading to a quick-ER fix than later.

The lightspeed bundles are only available for a week. I made a deal with a guild mate where I would send him a lightspeed bundle free for him. He jumped ahead and sent me some crystals ahead of time to show me some appreciation (wasn't requested or needed but nice of him).

Now I find myself in the position where it says he isn't eligible to receive gifts and unable to receive the lightspeed bundle we had come to an agreement on.

I feel like this could put my integrity into question and create distrust within the guild. Not to mention the potential of the problem going past a week and we miss out on the bundle purchases.

Here's hoping for a quick fix. Thank you all for your hard work

I am in the same boat as you, worked really hard to get where I am in Fleet, and just watching it disappear.

Had a guild mate buy me a bundle nearly 6-7 hours ago with the idea that I would then buy one for them. Still nothing has shown up in my game. They swear the game took their money. With this approach to gifting, there will now be an added layer to wondering if this is a bug in the game or if the other person is telling the truth or not. I have no reason to believe they are lying, but this format puts us in the kind of situation where instead of dealing with CG with support, we are pitted against other players. This puts us in such an uncomfortable spot.

Shouldn’t be this hard to give a company your money.

Don’t do it, gifted someone for a surprise gift and they have not received it. Huge ripoff

1000% agree with this. While it’s a nice thought to have the ability to gift someone purchasable content, it is absurd for players not to be able to purchase these same bundles for themselves. Expecting people to make agreements with others and send them cash is just begging for innocent people to get ripped off.

It has been over 24 hours since the issue was flagged, a whole 24 hours where some people have been able to get the LSB and change the landscape of Fleet arena, while others for some unknown reason are ineligible for it and are losing ground due to the incompetence with which this has been implemented. That is has taken over 24 hours and there has been no update or emergency patching is beyond a joke.

I wanted to buy someone a gift but before the payment option came up the process got interrupted (the game claimed it had timed out when it was less than a second). Now the player is greyed out and ineligible for the pack I wanted to send them...

Have restarted the game twice and waited 10 minutes but no change so far. Hope it's just some cache on the server.


Can I add my voice to the many who have already said this is such a badly (not?) thought through system. I cannot remember anyone asking for this feature - ESPECIALLY not in combination with "gift-only" packs. We have a long list of real QoL changes that would make life for players & officers so much easier. Instead of wasting Dev effort on building (and repairing) the gift shop, it would have been nice to have worked on any one of the things the majority of people actually did request.

It is a joke that there hasn't been a single update after nearly 36 hours

They really did not think this one through.
