People use the lore argument whenever they think a certain toon needs a buff, because "it's only right". Character X needs to be stronger because he did this and that, beat character B, C and D all by himself, but he gets killed by a measely pilot etc etc. It never crossed their minds that if this game would use lore as a basis for character strenght, the game would be boring as heck. I'm not that familiar with all things starwars so i can't name names, but having an arena team with the 5 strongest characters lore wise be meta all day everyday is something nobody wants.
So basically they're asking for something they actually do not want.
