I joined an arena chat when I was invited. It's like a mini-guild. We don't mess with each other and only battle each other if there is no alternative and we can't go around because of log jams of shard mates in a row. We don't mess with other player either.
The only time we retaliate is when we're attacked by someone who is outside of their payout. other than that, it's pretty civil.
My runs to first have been a lot less stressful and sniping doesn't happen as much because im not stepping on anyone's toes. When in doubt, I check SWGOH.gg for payout times of other teams so I don't mess with their payout.
The resources available in arena are probabaly the most valuable (to me) because it's where you get the most crystals in the game. Those resources allow you to better you team.
If you want to prevent another player from getting those resources just on you can stay in first, you have every right to do that and if you're having fun, good for you. That's what it about. Just know that you'll get slingshot back into the abyss and have a daily grind to get back up to the top ten. It's happened to me, mostly due to my own ignorance of others payout times.
This game can be frustrating enough just with relying on whiter or not RNG is going to like you or hate you today. Personally, removing a preventable headache isn't such a bad idea.
