Damn, I don't understand why this gets so much hate. It's just common courtesy, guys. If you want to be an egocentric twat and screw people over because you don't care about them or their enjoyment, well, then you only deserve to get screwed over in turn as well. You reap what you sow.
Since I joined my shard chat I've been consistently hitting #1 on payout. A list has been comprised of everyone's payout time so we can all make sure we don't accidentally screw people over. People with the same payout time take turns. Many whales with tougher teams even remove some mods or alter some chars in order to allow the f2p players with lesser chars a premium payout. It's way less stressful - silly rivalries and grudges get replaced by jokes, advice and nice crystal boost for everyone.
EDIT: After some further reading I saw some people saying that they like the competitive and surprising aspect of arena. All I have to say to that is: Really? Squad arena has never been close to being competitive with an AI on defense. It's just a load of frantic tapping on your screen hoping you can lock yourself in in the final minutes. If you're idolizing thát, I can only sincerely hope you take the advice of getting out more to heart.
