You're absolutely right. That is the best possible scenario I can imagine: a real game changer where everything is based around support. If they capture that, then I'll be over the moon. But the cynic in me makes me think that won't happen. Only because of the mechanics of gear progression. There have been recent changes to toons to ensure they don't have to acrue gear that they can't use (because, for example they don't cause Special damage). In order to have a non-combatitve toon, you'd have to narrow its gear choices to only a handful of items, which in turn would make for poor progression.

Or those are just promotional videos, the Luke part looked like it was just the chess board on The Falcon, I don't think that means they are adding him to the game. It's already odd having Ani and Vader on the same team, imagine 2 Lukes and 2 Han's now...

I know I should suspend my disbelief but I feel this might be a little silly for my tastes...

P.S. I'm almost exclusively a droid player and know full well that he'll be an awesome boon to my team.

Understood on your perspective but I completely disagree. R2 was instrumental in many of the battles and participated in various ways (though I like chopper better). He fits "support" perfectly. A far better teaser than the rancor video.

im a bit skeptical of this r2d2 attack... 5 min after release it will be a running joke called the black spooge attack

You can have two Hans. This is a game even in the star wars universe it's a game that people played. And like all games anythings possible.

Next someone will explain how starkiller base shot projectiles that went slow enough too be witness by the naked eye on planets, but fast enough to hit planets 1000s of light years away.
