Raid Rewards.... lower finishers getting better rewards....

So several guildmates and I have tested out what rewards are given to players in each of the raids. For the past month, players that finish 5 or lower have been getting SIGNIFICANTLY better gear rewards that those players that are finishing top 5. It has been consistent and frankly defeating to those that are putting forth the effort to finish top 5. So what is the deal?
  • RNG. Totally random.
As long as the rewards have a random element to it, your top 5 has.. err.. five people.
Whereas there are 45 of "rest"
Extend that further to many raids.. The chances of the rest getting better rewards look higher.

In particular.. I heard that #38 and #46 have the best of best rewards. =)
  • Which place gets stun cuffs? Because I haven't received those in about 4 months... or stun guns that'd be fine too

Did you record the data? If you did, could you post it?

We have, but I am not sure all of it has been saved....

You missed part of the point... it has been consistent for weeks. So, not exactly random. The top finishers have been getting lower end gear that we all have hundreds of, while those below say 5 are getting cuffs, stun guns, carbinettis etc...

However if it is truly all RNG, then this is where things needs to change.... they should weight the top finishers to get more and rarer gear.

If that scenario wasn't possible, it wouldn't be random. Mind Blown.

Huh? You can still have RNG but weigh the finishes..... ever see the NBA draft lottery?

  • When I do 0 damage I get a full piece of gear, the other day a full Stun Cuff and some salvage carbantis... It's RNG, but this seems to be true
  • I haven't experienced the same. Past month, my main places 1-3 in heroic pit without fail. I full prototype, no full raid. However, my alt finishes 21-30 for that same month and also hasn't gotten a full raid or prototype. In fact,my low placing alt hasn't received more than 2 sets of ten pieces.

I don't contribute much damage on the alt, so I dont deserve much. But I'm certainly not getting a good drop for low finishes.
  • 1-3 gets more rewards. In pit, you get 3 pulls as opposed to 2 pulls in 4-50. In AAT, you get 5 pulls as opposed to I think 3. Now on top of that, the higher your tier placement is, the more each pulls will contain. Say tier 1-3 gets 40 furnace salvage, top 10 gets 30, top 20 gets 20. I know those might not be the exact numbers but it's something like that anyways. So they're rewarded higher there. Think about that over time, if you're always in the top 10, you are far wealthier than those in the bottom tiers. Oh then there's guild currency and credits. Don't tell me you'd rather get the bottom tier payout for credits and guild currency? That stuff is valuable. Even if I can't participate in a raid fully because of something going on, I'll at least send a team in to auto battle the raid just to beat it all the guildees who don't care and just log a zero and call it good. Gets me more rewards.
