Remove the 5 Minute Timer in GAC

The lag is really really annoying!!!! It’s like the game has to think for a few seconds trying to figure out how much damage reduction it takes between R7 to R9!!!  And character animations are lagging also. Raid Han shoots waits a couple seconds then shoots again.  I used Greedo in TB on a Hutt cartel team and same thing!!!!!  He shoots thinks about shooting again. The game used to run very smooth and ever since this delta garbage update my game crashes during battles which has cost me points in GAC and TB and the ridiculous lagging makes the game almost unplayable!!!!  

Whoa!  You're making a pretty big assumption from a software perspective.  When you have a complete software package, 1 functionality can interact with 100s or in SWGOH's case maybe 1000s of other functionalities.  Presuming that SWGOH developers can simply remove the battle timer without having to rework mountains of other code that depends on it is a big assumption.  Regardless of whether your idea is good or bad, us end-users have no clue how modular and plug-n-play that functionality is.  Yes, they actually do have battles in the game without timers, but those are not the battles that have been in the game for 8 to 10 years.  

I definitely don't agree with "Besides 'you suck get better' there is no argument to keep it", as I can think of many valid arguments beginning with the one I put in the paragraph above this sentence.  Argument 1 - unplugging the timer might break all kinds of important code that we don't want broken.@
Argument 2 - Why get rid of timers when you can just get rid of the Protection mechanic?  This game originally didn't have the Protection mechanic in it.  Getting rid of protection would definitely make the battles go faster.  Oh wait, getting rid of that would break the #1 thing we play this for:  kit interactions.  The thing is though that you might not realize it from your perspective at this moment, but Time is and always has been a mechanic.  With or without the timer, time has always been a mechanic that you definitely didn't ignore at 1 point in your gameplay:  the moment you originally switched your game from 1x battle speed to 4x battle speed.  You didn't like the slow @zz gameplay so you turned it to 4x, didn't you !!!???  Well guess what else:  I don't know of any player that wants more time for battles besides the protagonist of this thread.

Disagree with changing the timers, but not that worked up over it anyways. I bet the people with those GLATs are less favorable about extending or removing timers 😂

But...  "Full auto is a joke and it means I'm NOT PLAYING THE GAME! ".  Gearing, Relic'ing, Modding, Team comp, Zeta, Omi, and DC work before you send your squad into battle are ALL part of playing the game.  Auto is just an option.

We have 4x speed because five minutes wasn't enough at regular speed. Now we have super long animations even at 4x and tanky characters. All a longer countdown will do is repeat that cycle. 

As the post says remove it. That answers your question of how long and when to change it. If it's not happening that often then what's the harm? It's not live H2H so stalling isn't an issue. Besides "you suck get better" there is no argument to keep it. 

You seem to acknowledge timeout is a problem, so what is your answer that the veterans would approve of?

Leia r2 drogan adrad jyn vs a well-made datacronned GLAT team in TW can in fact go > 5 min.  I've done that battle 20ish times and can say 5% of them are right at 5 min or greater.  

That doesn't mean throw the baby out of the window with the bathwater though (whoever came up with that expression???)

Traya vs a lot of teams in 2026 just takes longer now.  Power creep is a thing in this game.  I think the last thing our veteran base wants is the answer to time-out being longer battles.  What's your limit?  7 min?  And how often does CG move that line?

My mods are solid overall 5.06, top 80 9.76 according to C3PO. I'm 12.5M in kyber 3-4, no impactful Datacrons. I know my counters, I know what works. I've been playing long enough to know when I lose because of a timer and not because of gameplay error.

The 5 minute timer is outdated- the things I mentioned make the battles take longer. 

I'm glad to see some of you aren't having the trouble. A simple "I'm not having that issue" or "I disagree" would work. You don't need to criticize considering you didn't see my roster or mods yet you assume that's the problem. Why don't you post your roster, your mod score... Show me the way? 

Relic 10 GLAT with a 200% defense data cron 5 minutes is not enough. Everything in this game has progressed except some things such as the timer. I can’t tell you how many times I got soft locked for 3 whole minutes where all abilities are gone and the match can’t progress. If they aren’t going to fix their game they need to increase the timer.

If you can't win your fight in 5 minutes, pick a better counter next time. Congrats to your opponent.

Then take in optimum counters, GLAT has plenty dependant on her relic levels from non-GL ones to an absolute hard (and fast one) in GL Leia.

As for "what is the point of the timer anymore", its so you have to think what you are bringing in and also so that players can strategically place down banner stealing teams that time out.

Maybe rather than just moan post your roster and we can tell you what teams you should be using.
