Restarting on a new account

Just hurry, and spend gems on refreshes to level up quickly. My starting rank was over 16,000. What I noticed is that there are a lot of inactive accounts below 1-2000. Top 100 should be no problem if you gear up a good synergy team right away.

I was thinking of saving gems for an 8x chromium pack. Is it really better to do refreshes?

^ This. My second account (F2P) started rank 6K or so, and with energy refreshes early got to top 50, and maintained top 50 ever since (with a few top 20 appearances, currently rank 18 amongst Chaze and Shoretroopers!).

Yes. Buy one chromium for the guaranteed char (first single chromium is 99% of the time a full char, but no more. Get refreshes, get gear and toon shards. That'll help a lot, also decide NOW what team you're farming otherwise you'll lag behind if you switch halfway.

In case this wasn't clear, don't buy the 8x pack, just buy a single 1x for the guaranteed character. Spend crystals ONLY on refreshes basically until level 80+. Cantina refreshes first since you get the added bonus of character shards and cantina shipments.

And a HUGE +1 to the second point here. Decide what team you want now and go with it all the way. If you do this, regardless of the meta, you'll be able to stick top 50 no problem.

I fell into the 1%... ended up with half a Maul... I think it was just his legs. Needless to say, I wasn't happy.

Also top 100 can be easy if you gen arena refreshes

I have no time for a second account but from what some guildies talk about, the way to go is to
A) start several accounts and space them out going past lvl 7 (or 8) to open arena and check the standings to see where the shard is at. 20k is the max from what I understand.
B) this can be done with or without A, get to lvl 6 or ( 7) just before you unlock arena and keep collecting free refreshes but don't spend and stay out of opening arena. Then after 2 weeks or so, you can jump in and spend energy for a day or 2 and rank up really fast to get an advantage in arena.
