Rotta the Hutt has broken Coliseum

Most long term ftp players should have enough crystal income to at least unlock rotta.  He does far exceed the other legendary characters in terms of performance.  I'm surprised we didn't all get autobanned from going from tier 9 to tier 12 in one day.

In short. A beautiful game destroyed by an empire of greed. Shocking!!!! Not. Player based, rank based, and fund based is all we ask for. Quite the pay to win, and maintain a win to play. Easy you sleeve balls of **bleep**. 

i used to have to think, and plan, and actively play colosseum to get into the top 20.
now, i just put rotta on auto.

$60 US will fix your issues.  Hate to put it that way but $20 a month for the episode pass will get you what you are looking for.  Is it P2Win.  Yep.  The development and the servers are not free.  It costs more than that to see a movie these days.  20 bucks can barely buy you a lunch these days.  You have to determine what the time value or money and priority of entertainment are.

I'm playing on a decade-old account that was inactive for about 8 years. My fleet arena is a nightmare gauntlet of Leviathans and I can't finish top 10. My only GL ship is low stars and loses me banners, I have 2 GLs and am forced to bring basically my entire usable roster on offense in GAC just to barely manage full clears, meaning I lose to every opponent who shows up and knows how to play the game at any feasible level. I haven't spent money on this game in a long time either. All this to say, I'm playing while handicapped on almost every major source of crystal income.

I got every marquee this era to 4 star and unlocked Rotta without any issues. In fact I refreshed a PG and 5 GL ship event reruns in the middle of it too. If I can do it then there's no excuse for you. You don't need to be "rolling in crystals" whatsoever. If you can't generate on average 4000 crystals every marquee rotation then you're either still an early game account or you're doing something extremely wrong.

He is literally a pit fighter and you're shocked he excels in.... a pit fight?!

But as Crzydroid said, if you didn't unlock Rotta, you don't actually care about Coliseum. The last 2 legendary already established they boost your score in Coliseum. So this isn't out of the blue and if you think it is, you haven't been paying attention.

I mean, on the one hand, I hear you, but on the other hand, if you cared about being competitive in Coliseum, you'd have Rotta. Like if you're getting 75 coins now from not having Rotta, you were getting 75 before.

It perhaps doesn't address the issue of people losing their 3000 currency place because so many have Rotta now, but that's not the way you framed it.

Correct what? Keep up with the meta or get left in the dust. You're not entitled to your preferred placement on the leaderboard because you decided not to unlock the legendary character. 

Rotta is the best thing about the Coliseum since Coliseum came to the game. I vote we keep him in the Coliseum permanently.
