And because those hypothetical tiers correlate only to speed. A balanced meta wouldn't require 5 high speed characters.
Your idea is predicated on the fact that the most popular characters should be the strongest, whatever that means regarding the meta - if speed is king, they should be fastest, if damage is king, the should have the highest DPS, etc.
Read my post again. My idea is predicated on the most powerful characters in the films being the most powerful characters in the game. Not the most popular. Not my "fanboi favourites".
Geo Soldier is the arguably the most powerful character in the game because he's not a "role player" per my definition. He has high speed and massive damage, and no interesting synergies or buffs. I run a droid team in Arena - why? Because it's competitive, not because I love droids. I understand as well as anyone the tension between wanting to use your favourite characters and having to use the best characters to stay competitive, even stupid generic ones. It has nothing to do with the aesthetic qualities or "looks" of the characters, at least for me. I have no idea where you got that. It has everything to do with a character's significance to the story and how their role affects the outcome. Their internal struggle, motives, actions, etc and how we identify with them. That's why people love certain characters. How many fans are going to say Han Solo was their favourite character as a kid cause his costume looked cool? That generation of (male) fans love him because he was a badass, a fearless pilot and an awesome character with a great individual story.
Dude, your wasting your time and you will develop carpal tunnel syndrome before you convince anyone on this forum that there are many many ways to make this game better for everyone, including your suggestions.
I'm not against you, I'm actually on your side here. While your suggestions did have some holes and would need some tweaking, I still like the general idea about matching the lore.
I've tried to convince people here on alot of things, only to have the same thing happen to me that happened to you in this thread. Then, a few weeks later in a different thread, the same people would be saying exactly what I had said in my thread. The only thing that they have never changed their opinion on is the way the characters are currently set up. No one seems willing to lose the resources they invested in certain characters in order to have a more balanced game.
More power to ya and keep fighting the good cause dude, but I have given up. I just don't use certain characters bc I don't want to be part of the problem. It's the principal of it. I would love to see some changes but don't see it happening. GL though
