Separatist Fleet Proposal Addition of Count Dooku’s “Solar Sailer”
Separatist fleets under Malevolence currently function as a strong but narrow execution-based roster, primarily built around Geonosian and droid synergy.
While effective in burst damage and control loops, the fleet lacks strategic depth, mid-battle identity transitions, and roster flexibility, resulting in gameplay that resolves into a predictable execution cycle rather than a dynamic battle progression.
This proposal introduces a new Separatist ship centred on the Solar Sailer, piloted by Count Dooku, designed to introduce a structured battle flow:
Control → Momentum → Execution
Current Separatist fleet limitations:
- Over-reliance on a small set of viable ships (Geonosians + droids)
- Lack of meaningful mid-battle state changes
- Limited tactical decision-making after initial setup
- Fleet identity collapses into a single execution loop
Result: Strong performance, but shallow strategic expression.
Core Proposal: The Solar Sailer is introduced as a fully upgradable Separatist ship.
- Selectable like all other ships
- Functions as a strategic reinforcement layer, enhancing fleets under the Malevolence.
Primary Mechanic: The Sail System (Stance based system similar to Ki-Adi Mundi)
1. Sail Out (Control Phase)
On entry, the Solar Sailer enters a controlled strategic state:
- Gains stealth/reduced target priority style protection
- Applies “Hidden Communication” to Separatist allies:
- minor consistency buffs (turn flow stability)
- improved reliability of debuff application / synergy triggers
- No immediate offensive pressure
Design intent: Establish battlefield control and coordination without early burst advantage.
2. Momentum Phase (Mid-Battle Escalation)
Momentum buff is generated through Separatist actions:
- applying debuffs
- triggering assists / synergy chains
- surviving enemy attacks
- controlling enemy turn flow
Momentum represents: The Separatist war machine transitioning from coordination to commitment.
3. Sail In (Execution Phase)
Triggered once Momentum reaches a defined threshold:
- Solar Sailer retracts its sails and joins active combat offensively
- Converts Momentum into scaling pressure:
- assist chains across Separatist allies
- bonus attacks and coordinated strikes
- scaling offense/critical damage amplification
- Fleet enters decisive collapse phase
- May return to Sail Out mode after cooldown period.
Design intent: Controlled escalation into overwhelming force.
This system reframes Separatist fleets as: A coordinated war machine that observes, adapts, and then overwhelms with precision. Rather than: A synergy-based damage roster with limited tactical variance.
Design Philosophy
- Preserve Malevolence as core capital ship identity
- Introduce new ship and mechanic layer to the established Separatist fleet based on Separatist identity
- Add meaningful mid-battle decision structure
- Reinforce Separatist doctrine:
Control → Coordination → Escalation → Execution
This system enhances battle depth without increasing raw power ceilings, focusing instead on combat pacing and identity expression.
Strategic Benefits
Improves Fleet Identity Depth
Separatists gain a full battle lifecycle instead of a single execution loop.
Increases Tactical Decision-Making
Players engage with timing, not just synergy activation.
Maintains Balance Integrity
No capital ship displacement, no faction split required.
Expands Future Design Space
Enables future ships (no pilot Tri-fighter, Ventress’ Ginivex-class Fanblade Starfighter, Belbullab-22 Heavy Starfighter, Rogue-class Porax-38 Starfighter, etc.) to slot into a more defined structure.
Closing Statement
The Separatist Alliance represents one of the most significant yet under-expressed military forces in Star Wars and is not fully represented within Galaxy of Heroes.
This proposal aims to elevate Separatist fleet gameplay into a fully realised strategic system, where battles are not simply executed — they are planned, escalated, and concluded with intent.
And if any faction in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes deserves to feel like it is calculating your defeat several turns before it happens, it is this one.
