The main thing I'm a little worried about is the reduction of the battle timer to 5min; I'm curious to see how that'll affect my very busy payout time (half the people in my server are competing at that time). Battle was always decided in 1 minute - everyone just waits until 15s to finish to block, as there's no effective defense right now. Maybe this update will make that less necessary, which would be nice as waiting on a countdown timer for 6 minutes is really dull.
As for the meta, they could have very easily shaken it up with a slight modification to Biggs' Daring Assault ability: "Biggs' Xwing recovers 35% Protection and Taunts for 1 turn whenever an enemy is Target Locked by a light side ally." Suddenly Biggs + TIEs doesn't work anymore.
That being said, I'm interested to see what all the reenforcement bonuses are, and how the ships have been altered. Most of my ships are 7* with g11-12 pilots, so it'll boil down to figuring out which reenforcement bonuses to materials to farm first.
