It has nothing to do with lore. This comes from just greed and nothing else. They would not get enough money from just darth revan so they now require people to sink more money into two more toons. If you are whale and pay for getting darth revan you will most likely pay for quick gear for two more toons also.
This has nothing to do with greed. It was a mistake for JKR to have better synergy with Jedi than with OR. With Darth Revan, they decided not to repeat the mistake.

Imagine the Triumvirate interacting with Darth Revan. DR distributes the Ferocity debuff left and right, and each member of the Triumvirate gets bonuses when the other two get debuffed. That would be pure hell.
You might end up with an undefetable Nihilus with raid boss level health pool.
The only problem in arena is that the remaining JKR teams will not let the Triumvirate get close to DR.
I was talking about them being on the same team, hence why the Triumvirate can't get the Sith Empire tag. DR distributes Ferocity to allies.
They can't get the tag because they weren't part of the Sith Empire. Granted, the fact that they weren't may be the main reason they added the tag, but the reason they can't have it now that it's here is narrative, not mechanical.
Also, by that same logic, Sith Trooper *should* lose the Sith tag, because he isn't Sith, he's just a Trooper in the Sith Empire.
