On my soft-launch arena shard virtually all of the top ten are now Rex lead (plus one QGJ and two Maul). All of the whaliest whales shifted from Maul to Rex in the last week, and this is a very mature shard. My sith team still competes well, though - I can beat all the Rex squads and they can beat me, if we have comparable mods.
I don't see how anyone could conclude that sith teams are overpowered or META at the moment. I don't know that there even is a clear META. We need to wait and see what emerges and whether any sort of squad becomes dominant and stays there over time. Right now I'd say that several kinds of team are equally competitive at the top. We certainly did have mostly Maul squads for a couple of weeks or more, but they are out of fashion now.
I believe if you see mainly sith squads in arena it is merely everyone copying one another, rather than this actually being the most powerful squad type.
