I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way. This isn't meant to be derisive or divisive or anything else negative, but rather I'm trying to help.
That is one way of looking at it. Another way would be it is getting players to up their games. I switched guilds and it was a hard decision, but a good one. My old guild is doing just fine without me; better even as my departure made others step in and step up. We still chat on discord and there are no hard feelings either way.
To each their own, but I can tell you this much; I LOVE the raid now that Heroic is on farm. It is no longer boring and a drain like it was in the lower tiers. I hated the raid when I was not doing Heroic.
So the issue, to me, isn't the raid itself so much as the approach of the players. If all you do is throw in squads and hit auto it is going to be a drag for you.
Lowering the health pool would help, but once you get to Heroic that isn't an issue anymore. Just focus on farming the right toons and the raid will become fun. But only if the other members of your guild are also farming the right toons and learning the mechanics of the squads and how to use them. If they aren't, and you are, then you need to consider moving on IMHO or you are holding yourself back.
That's all well and good, and congrats on getting into a heroic guild. However, you kind of glossed over the fact that everything below heroic is still absolute garbage. What are lower end guilds supposed to do once they loose their higher GP players? What happens to game balance as a small % of players gain access to heroic rewards while the rest get stuck with T1-6 with no progression (actually, slower progression now that all the high GP players have "stepped up their game")?
Seems like a myopic take on the situation to me.
