Hello Holotable Heroes,
We have received a wide range of feedback about the newest raid, The Sith Triumvirate and we would like to hear more about your experience. Please include the following information in addition to your feedback:
- What tier or tiers did you play?
- What GP is your Guild that is attempting the raid?
- What teams you did you attempt the raid with?
- What part of the raid motivated or demotivated you to continue trying?
- What about the raid did you enjoy? What did you dislike about the raid?
Tier 4. We could be doing tier 5, but It takes longer than we can use our raid tickets, so we stick to tier 4
Guild GP: 89 Million
We have a wide range of teams and try to keep on top of the newest things as best we can, but it's a marathon, not a sprint (you obviously know that).
In the beginning, we were extremely motivated to get Traya shards, as time goes by, it seems like we're becoming more motivated by other parts of the game that would also be good in the Sith raid. For example, I'm farming Death Trooper (who I think it's going to be really good against Nihilus), but if it weren't a good part of the Imp trooper team, I'm not sure I'd put the effort into it. As far as demotivating, when you're playing a video game (a console game that is) and your leveling up your character, and you head into a boss battle, and you're in over your head, then you die, and you say to yourself "Woha, too much.... I better go get stronger", so you go off and do some side missions, and you gear yourself up, and you get stronger, then you go back and fight the boss, and yahoo, you win. You get your rewards and you move on. In this case, the boss is the grind. It's hard the entire time, you have to grid to be able to partake in the hardness, and it stays hard the whole way. It's monotonous, and is extremely discouraging.
We have a very active guild, our GP has increased by more than 45% in 2018 (we've also had 0 player turnover in the last couple months). I vividly remember when the Rancor and AAT raids came out and thinking "woha, that's hard", but I saw a path to victory, and that path looked fun to me. I don't feel that way about the Sith Raid. I do see a path to completion mind you, but it doesn't look like fun.
Speaking of my guild, the other part of the Sith raid that drives me bonkers is my guild itself. 100%, I am fully capable of making contact with another guild of approximately our strength, and saying "Hey, you cut 50% of your weakest players, and I'll cut 50% of my weakest players, and lets join forces." and that is the fasted way for me to get Traya shards, and I believe I could start farming her in a week with that approach. The other officers in my guild have brought that option up, and we decided (unanimously) not to do that. Other guilds aren't going to be so community driven, and will take that route. Resulting in a consolidation of power that is going to result in a huge increase between the have's and the have-not's. It's really unfortunate, and yet, here we are.
All of that is to say, I REALLY like the spirit of the raid, but I think you've take it too far. Let us find combos that you didn't think of, STH needed to be nerfed, you will get no criticism from me on that, but 5's??? Common, let us have that, it wasn't a solo-ing ability, it wasn't an auto ability. That took a lot of thought on someone's part, and it requires a lot of farming of a bunch of characters that don't have a lot of function in other parts of the game. Let us pull characters out when the rage is about to happen, give us something, because all we've gotten from you so far is a whole lot of taking and a whole lot of nerfing. So yeah... it's demotivating.
