Skill Squish still happening?

Weren't they doing away with this and slowly expanding K1 instead? I finished season in K1, near edge of K2, maybe 20-30 points over. Now in between seasons my skill rating has gone down to K2 (though it still shows me being in K1). I got squished right out!
