I actually agree with ST Han not being a Smuggler. For the very brief time he was dressed as a Stormtrooper, he only had two very specific goals; 1) Rescue Leia to collect the financial reward, and 2) Escape the Death Star. Neither of those goals have anything to do with smuggling. He was smuggling before and after that time frame but none of his actions were smuggling related while he wore that uniform.
