Why arent St Han, Lando, Capt Han, and honesty certain members of Phoenix squad tagged as smugglers?

Phoenix fly cargo ships (although phantom is about as big as a tie fighter, so that also doesn't make sense), and half the show is about stealing stuff to take it somewhere else, running an empire blockade, etc. But they are not smugglers. Same for STHan, who had to get tricked into rescuing a princess with promises of a big reward: he was clearly still a smuggler in his mind. Meanwhile the new guys are, despite not actually smuggling anything? They are thieves and bandits.
