Sniper droid WAI?

I had a Sniper droid in t6 of the Galactic Challenges kill my character while Rey’s ultimate was active. Have a guild mate who had him kill GAS while clones were still active. Has he always had that ability and we just never noticed it in TB? Is this WAI?

    I really want that sniper to be available.

    It’s a weird system. In one battle he can KO’d KRU, in other KRU is still standing.
