So CG just abandoned the "neutral alignment" idea, didn't they.

What was the point of creating the "neutral alignment", creating provisions/labels/etc for it in ROTE, etc for ONE character (Hondo)? He was released over two years ago now, and there hasn't been a...

Pretty much. Tbh, I think neutral is a good concept, but hard to balance gameplay wise. Makes it harder for them to design stuff with the neutral tag in mind mechanically, like how Padme or Rey do stuff for Light Side toons or SLKR for Dark Side.
