You're going to need him eventually, and so long as you can get 15+ shards those shards are worth more than all the GET3 you're likely to earn in the new TB. Plus LS Geo gives out more GET1 and GET2.
Find a guild willing to bounce back and forth between LS Geo and RotE until you have your KAM. The 50ShardsOfKAM discord server has a place where you can find KAM focussed guilds so you can get him as quickly as possible then move on.
Perhaps your guild only gets a low number of kam shards because they dont have their clones at high enough speed or dont have bad batch with high relic and the omega omi.
I can tell you we get 7 to 9 shards from playing lightside tb... wed rather have the option to use get3 on him or other things than play the old
